Prince Harry Fears Racist Trolls Will Drive His Girlfriend Away.
There has been heightened media scrutiny on Prince Harry's girlfriend, American actress Meghan Markle. And the prince is worried that this might drive Markle away.
The Kensington Palace issued a statement, as plea to racist and sexist trolls to leave his girlfriend alone. The Prince accused social and mainstream media for "crossing the line" when it came to comments they made about their interracial relationship.
As indicated in the statement, the Prince, 32, has been dating the 35-year-old 'Suits' legal drama actress for a few months. Markle is mixed race, born to black mother and a white father.

Apparently there has been lots of abuse and harassment sent their way and it was time to speak out. He described the social media comments to be filled with "racial undertones" and "outright sexism and racism"
There was an article last Friday on the front page of a national newspaper which reported about clips of Markle's on a porn site. Apparently the clips are sex scenes from the legal drama 'Suits'. There was also an article speculating reasons for Markle's divorce from her ex, producer Trevor Engelso.
Through her solicitors, Miss Markle has asked the UK media to respect her privacy.
According to a source, the Prince's fear stem from the fact that any potential mate of his will be subjected to massive scrutiny, which might scare the women off saying:
"If this is the price someone has to pay for being Harry’s girlfriend, why would they do it? He is not naive, he knows he is not waving a magic wand and he knows articles will still be written about her, but he is not prepared to accept a campaign to destroy her reputation."
Much as his previous relationship suffered the same, the Prince acknowledges that Miss Markle's situation is worse than his previous girlfriends experienced. He pleaded with the media to back off.
The statement reads:
"Prince Harry is worried about Ms Markle’s safety and is deeply disappointed that he has not been able to protect her. It is not right that a few months into a relationship with him that Ms Markle should be subjected to such a storm. He knows commentators will say this is ‘the price she has to pay’ and that ‘this is all part of the game’. He strongly disagrees. This is not a game, it is her life and his."
Markle is expected to visit London later this month once she finishes filming the current series of 'Suits'.
