Viral Ad On Teenage Love Carries A Serious Hidden Message

Posted by Sidney, 06 Dec 16

From the face value, its just an advert about a bored teenage boy (Evan) who keeps scribbling messages on a desk at the library. Then he comes back to find some anonymous girl has replied to his messages. And the library table correspondence goes on for a while. Evan walks through hall ways and sits in class trying to figure out who this anonymous girl is.

Turns out while concentrating so much on this budding puppy romance; trying to figure out who this girl is, we miss some aspect in the video. In fact it is one of the things people should have been paying attention to most.

Watch the video which has gone viral and let us know if you notice beforehand:

The thing is, most teachers and even students miss these signs all the time. The ad was made by the agency BBDO New York for Sandy Hook Promise. Sandy Hook Elementary School is the school where there was a tragic shooting in 2012 where lives were lost.

Co-founder and managing director of Sandy Hook Promise, Nicole Hockley, who also lost her son in the shooting said:

"When you don't know what to look for, or can't recognize what you are seeing, it can be easy to miss warning signs or dismiss them as unimportant. That can lead to tragic consequences. It is important for us to show youth and adults that they are not helpless in protecting their community from gun violence—these acts are preventable when you know the signs"
